As model makers, it is a rare opportunity when you get to work with historians, indigenous elders and community on a project of such significant importance as our own heritage.
This project not only gave us a chance to re-evaluate our our own individual beliefs and education in relation to our historical interactions with each other, but it also provided the chance to express the stories and experiences recounted by individuals with passion and commitment, thereby making that information accessible to every visitor.

Modelcraft is extremely grateful to have had an opportunity such as this, and look forward to utilising our skills further in this area.

The models feature in two themed galleries called ‘Building Sydney’ and ‘Expanding the Colony’.
