Competition models for many model makers are a mixed blessing. The positive is they promote a very strong sense of involvement and value particularly between maker and the design team. This of course, encourages investment from the maker to offer ideas and representational solutions that are possibly not on the rest of teams radar. There is also a “labour of love “ element to these particular models as time is often a scarce commodity in a realm where quality and detail must shine through.

This model is the result of such circumstances. Close relationships were built between all team members and a great sense of achievement was left in the wake and space where the model sat being fussed over for the preceding weeks prior to submission. The negative is not knowing whether the bid will be successful!
